The ad industry is in the midst of a major shakeup. This year, generative AI emerged as a tool that could potentially take advertising work to new heights, even as some staffers fear they could be replaced. At the same time, the deadline for Google to end the third-party cookies in Chrome is nearing, and advertisers need to figure out how to handle that shift. And there’s massive demand for ad talent who can master newer channels like retail media and TikTok.
These tremendous changes present a great opportunity for early- and mid-career marketing pros to take charge and help steer their organizations. The people on this list are challenging the status quo by finding new ways to access and harness data to improve advertising, developing standout campaigns, and finding new opportunities for brands to connect with customers.
This is the sixth year Business Insider is recognizing rising changemakers within ad agencies.

Lauren Kaindl, associate director of brand planning, EP+Co
Kaindl, who joined EP+Co in 2021, helps clients like John Deere, General Mills’ Old El Paso seasoning brand, and furniture manufacturer Havertys harness data to better connect with customers.
As a strategic lead on John Deere Construction, she’s been a key player in helping grow the business and has found ways for the brand to make its presence known to prospective customers. For instance, in 2023, Kaindl helped the company show up big at the ConExpo, a huge construction trade show, by using a combination of out-of-home and paid media. Her strategy built up John Deere’s presence at the expo, making sure attendees visited the company’s booth and increased their average time spent. She also revamped John Deere Construction’s landing page, increasing time spent on the site by 87.2%.
Kaindl is also helping to extend EP+Co’s first major campaign for Old El Paso seasoning, called “So. Many. Pasobilities.” The campaign, which launched in summer 2023, is meant to position the seasoning as a key component to family gatherings, and has already driven strong purchase intent and created an emotional connection with the brand, the agency said.
